Healthcare Done Differently

We are not owned by private equity.

Our care and recommendations are not dictated by insurance or guidelines.

Unlike many "alternative" medical practices - we are not sales people and certainly don't peddle snake oil.

Honest to a fault, we shoot straight.

We’ve all been there. Endless hold times on the phone. Insurance hassles. No appointments for weeks. When you finally get in, it’s a five-minute speed date with a provider who barely looks up. You’re left clueless—no info, no options, just a script tossed your way. Meds pile up, side effects hit, and good luck getting a callback that isn’t from a random assistant.
Providers hate it too. We’re done with this mess.
Here’s the ugly truth: medical diagnoses are only right about 60% of the time (NIH, 2019). Rushing through four patients an hour? That’s not fixing anything. Screening, diagnosis, treatment—it’s all a one-size-fits-none disaster, ignoring your risks, genes, history, or life. Oh, and half the clinical guidelines out there are basically garbage (Guerra-Farfa, 2023). The system’s failing, hard.
At Performance Health, we’re torching that playbook. We take time (real time, not 15 seconds) to think, talk, and actually explain what’s going on and our thought process. You’re not a statistic; you’re the point. We dig into what matters, cut the nonsense, and deliver healthcare that doesn’t suck- including you in every decision along the way.
Change favors the bold, we all deserve better.
Our Integrative Model
Integrative Medicine is the melding of "regular" (medications etc.) medicine, "lifestyle" (nutrition, exercise, stress, etc.) medicine and "alternative" (herbal, meditative, etc.) medicine. The goal is to tailor all recommendations to the specific biological, psychological and sociological needs of each individual while seeking the least invasive treatments first whenever possible. We utilize this combined with Functional Medicine and conventional medicine in our practice.

Sometimes you need that antibiotic or that blood pressure medication. Sometimes an herb is all you need to control your allergies a little better or help with an upset stomach. Sometimes a woman should be screened for breast cancer earlier even if you they have a first degree family relative with cancer or a BRCA gene. Some people want to be tested more aggressively, others may not.

The medical decisions that we make should be based on the whole person, not just the quick and easy factors that medicine is often based on for a lack of time. These decisions should be shared between the provider and the patient so long as the decision is reasonable. Medicine is not black and white.
The Specifics

-
We make scheduling easy with online booking and allow your provider control of their schedule since they know their patients best.
-
Our providers book 2 patients per hour except in rare instances (other practices book 3-5/hour).
-
We utilize a total care model - When you are called back to your room - it is by your provider who will take your vitals and update your information themselves.
-
The vast majority of clinical updates, questions and clarifications are answered by your provider, not a medical assistant (telephonic visit copy/fee may apply).
-
Our providers believe in giving choices to patients and sharing rational and supporting data as they understand it to be true for patients to make informed decisions.
-
Our providers do not downplay side effects or risks of medications or interventions.
-
Our providers answer their own messages during business hours for all patients.

The Downsides

-
As they say "With great freedom comes great responsibility". Patients are given excellent access to their provider. Our company is actively foregoing income to improve the quality of care. It is very important for our providers to stay on time, so visits are strictly limited to the time allotted at scheduling. Additionally, we do charge a small fee for some communications to and from the provider (anything more than 2 per month is charged at $10 each). This is to deter abuse of access.
-
Our providers book 2 patients per hour except in rare instances (other practices book 3-5/hour). This means we do our best to accommodate everyone but as we get busier, prices may increase.
-
Our providers believe in giving choices to patients and sharing rational and supporting data as they understand it to be true for patients to make informed decisions. Because of this, sometimes we can be overwhelming to patients. If we need to slow down, or repeat something, or if you'd like to skip rationale altogehter - just let us know. We are here to serve you.
-
Our providers do not downplay side effects or risks of medications or interventions. Because many providers choose to ignore downsides, we can come across negative or anxiety inducing. Our belief is that informed consent is informed consent, even if it causes some anxiety.
-
Our providers answer their own messages during business hours for all patients. Because our providers actually use their phones, our numbers are not listed online to reduce spam and bot calls. This can be annoying, especially for people wanting to try our practice. Don't worry, you will be given our number after filling out the contact form.
