What is Microneedling
How it’s done:
A specialized device (at Performance Health we only use FDA cleared professional devices) with very fine needles is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These tiny punctures stimulate the body’s natural healing response, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin. The procedure is minimally invasive, and the depth of the needles can be adjusted depending on the area being treated and the goals of therapy.

For skin health:
Microneedling is often used to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, soften acne scars, and minimize pores. By boosting collagen remodeling, the skin becomes firmer and more even in tone. Treatments can be customized for concerns like wrinkles, pigmentation, or overall rejuvenation.

For scars and stretch marks:
Because microneedling promotes tissue repair, it can also help fade the appearance of scars and stretch marks. The process helps remodel underlying collagen and smooth irregularities in the skin surface.

For enhanced results:
Microneedling can be combined with topical serums, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), or exosomes. The micro-channels created during treatment allow these substances to penetrate deeper into the skin, increasing their effectiveness.

Risks:
Risks of microneedling are low. Most patients experience mild redness, swelling, or pinpoint bleeding that resolves within a few days. Infection is rare when proper sterile technique is used. Post-procedure care typically involves gentle cleansing, hydration, and sun protection to support healing and maximize results.
